This Week's Stories:
1. Discover a Victorian-era computer pioneer
Ada Lovelace published the first description of a computer program; a UCLA doctoral student is using AI to reveal her forgotten story.
2. IT Services’ new space in Wilshire Center features conference rooms named for notable women in technology: a way to recognize and highlight their achievements
Todd Weber had the idea to add plaques outside each conference room, to describe each woman’s contributions to the field. This not only acknowledges their contributions, but also educates our staff on the history of computing, and promotes inclusivity in the tech industry. Amongst the conference room namesakes are Ada Lovelace, Admiral Grace Hopper, and Katherine Johnson
