5. UCLA to transform empty Westside Pavilion mall into new UCLA Research Park

UCLA has just acquired yet another piece of property, a relatively short amount of time after the campus purchase in Rancho Palos Verdes and Trust Building purchase in Downtown LA. This time, the location will be a little closer to home.

Just two miles from campus, the vacant Westside Pavilion space – once a bustling mall and home to many Angelenos’ childhood Landmark Theatre – will be renovated and transformed into the UCLA Research Park. The shiny new center will house the California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy at UCLA as well as the UCLA Center for Quantum Science and Engineering. Learn more about the acquisition, as well as the respective programs the space will support.
