2. Designing AI Interfaces for Research Mobile Apps

This workshop hosted by Office of Advanced Research Computing (OARC) explores how human-centered UX design can support the integration of AI into research-focused mobile applications. We’ll examine how AI features, such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic assistants, can enhance participant engagement, improve data quality, and facilitate efficiency.

You'll gain insight into how the UX design process applies to AI - from early UX research and journey mapping to prototyping and interface design. In this session, we'll also discuss patterns for conversational interfaces, agentic tools, and approaches to accessibility - so you can learn how AI can help create smarter, more impactful research experiences.
