1. Process Palooza Proposals Deadline Extended!

 

Process Palooza 2024 is still looking for speakers to present in August 2024! If you’re passionate about Lean practices, innovation, AI, change management, and more, consider flexing your public speaking skills at Process Palooza! Lead speakers will enjoy complimentary registration to the full event with the exception of independent sessions that have additional charges. The deadline for proposal submissions is Friday, January 5, 2024.

2. Slack UI Changes Incoming

Slack’s redesign will be arriving Tuesday, Dec. 19, allegedly boasting better organization so that users can work faster and more effectively. Users will have bird-eye views of multiple workspaces, methods of promoting focus and removing interruptions, and finally easier, faster access to certain tools.

3. UCLA Technology Development Group Innovation Magazine

 

Check out some of UCLA’s recent achievements in the realms of technology development and innovation! UCLA TDG just published their Winter 2023 volume of their Innovation Magazine and it’s the literature to read if you want to see in which spaces UCLA has been pushing the boundaries of technology, creativity and entrepreneurship. Articles cover the award-winning carbon-removal process Equatic, new campus biotech licensing, advances in lupus treatment, and more!

5. EDUCAUSE Showcase Series: A Year in Review

As the year comes to an end, so does EDUCAUSE’s 2023 Showcase Series. The Showcase Series is meant to spotlight the most urgent issues in higher education with a focus on technology. For 2023, the published showcases were:
  • Privacy and Cybersecurity 101
  • Moving from Data Insight to Data Action
  • Online, In-Person, or Hybrid? Yes
  • SaaS, ERP, and CRM: An Alphabet of Opportunity
  • Smooth Sailing for the Student Experience

You can dive deeper into each showcase on the EDUCAUSE website, which will also include the link to each webinar recording.

The first EDUCAUSE showcase for 2024 will be in February and will cover the importance of cybersecurity in higher education.
