1.  Apple Seminar for UCLA IT Professionals 

Last chance so make sure you RSVP! The UCLA Computer Store at ASUCLA invites IT professionals across UCLA to join an upcoming in-person seminar where Apple engineer Tim Parker will cover recent platform updates that will impact Apple device management. The 1-hour presentation will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.The event will be catered, and interested attendees are recommended to RSVP as soon as possible.

Last year, Tim covered deployment, management, and security.

2. UC Cybersecurity Summit

There’s still a few weeks left to register for the UC Cybersecurity Summit. Sessions include responsible AI, alerts overload, an Experian breach update, along with multiple breakout and engagement opportunities. The full-day summit will be held on October 9 at UC Irvine.

When: Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 8AM - 4PM (PST)

Where: UC Irvine, Pacific Ballroom at Student Center

Registration closes on September 22.

3. EDUCAUSE Conference

Advanced registration for the in-person EDUCAUSE Conference ends on September 24. If you plan to attend, make sure to purchase your ticket soon. The EDUCAUSE conference gives you access to premium programming on the latest trends in higher ed technology and opportunities to make meaningful connections with other technologists in the field. 4. Reminder about BruinAlerts

Luckily, yesterday’s LA earthquake wasn’t particularly strong, and the Southern California fires haven’t directly affected campus. However, when there are emergencies or crises on campus, remember you can keep track via BruinAlerts. BruinAlerts are for emergencies that threaten the health or safety of the campus community will be sent as soon as the emergency is verified. All UCLA faculty and staff with valid email addresses in the UCLA Campus Directory and students with valid email addresses in MyUCLA are automatically enrolled in BruinAlert to receive email alerts.
