1. Call for OpenAI Project Proposals

Call for OpenAI Project Proposals

As part of UCLA’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiative, students, faculty, and staff now have access to Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini. ITS has also launched a call for proposals, initially targeting IT Services and IT Strategic Partners. The second phase started on November 1 and has opened participation to all faculty, students, staff, and researchers. 

More details can be found on the Generative AI website. Proposals can be submitted from November 1 to November 30, with selection notifications sent out by December 16.


2. Look out for news about the Canva license

Exciting news! Look out for a BruinPost email. Through a partnership with the University of California, UCLA Information Technology Services (ITS) will offer premium Canva accounts at a discounted rate for all UCLA faculty and staff. 

Canva is a user-friendly design tool perfect for creating social media graphics, digital flyers, and presentations. You can learn how to apply for a Canva license by visiting the Canva service page and following the instructions. Training resources and support are available to help you get started.

3. Digital Accessibility Consultations

UC GIS Week

Join us for UC GIS Week from November 19-21, 2024, celebrating all things mapping and geospatial within the University of California system. This virtual event will feature lightning talks, presentations, workshops, and a virtual gallery showcasing maps and posters. Themes include GIS & AI, climate effects on food and agriculture, and geospatial opportunities for students.

All sessions are free and open to the public.

4. Event Registration - The Craft of UX

Join the UCLA UX community group as they dive into deliverables, documents, artifacts, prototypes, napkins scribbles, diagrams, workshop agendas, implementations - anything specific that has improved user experience on a project.  Share your work via the submission form before Friday, Nov 15, 2024 and be ready to speak about it on the day of the event.
