1. RSVP for 2024 BruinTech Spring Conference

You’re invited to the 2024 BruinTech Spring Conference from Tuesday, May 21st - Thursday, May 23rd! You don’t need to RSVP for the virtual days on May 21st-22nd, but make sure to claim your spot for the in-person session on May 23rd – we promise engaging speakers and activities, delicious food, and last but definitely not least, caffeine!

2. UC Davis: AI Speaker Series: Piloting Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365

UC Davis Information and Educational Technology department’s next AI Speakers series features Microsoft Copilot! Copilot is an AI tool that UCLA staff have access to as part of the Microsoft Office suite. Join this discussion with Executive Director of IT for the College of Letters and Science Jeremy Phillips to learn more about features and how you can integrate Copilot into your own work.

3. Global Accessibility Awareness Day with UCOP

The UC Office of the President is celebrating Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 16 by hosting a panel of lightning talks. Leaders across the UC system will share what their respective campuses are doing to implement better accessibility features and measures. This year’s event will also include a fun demonstration that showcases digital accessibility.

When: Thursday, May 16th, 2024 at 10AM - 11:30AM (PST)

4. Meet the Leaders: Breakfast with Chancellor Gene Block

Join Chancellor Gene Block for an informal breakfast discussion, hosted by Staff Assembly. The Chancellor is slated to leave UCLA this summer, so take this chance to meet our university’s most senior leadership. Staff Assembly will select 10 random employees who meet the following criteria:

  •  All staff members who have at least one year of service and currently hold career or contract appointments may apply to attend the breakfast.
  • Staff classified as Senior Management Group are not eligible.
  • Staff who have not attended this event in the past will be prioritized for consideration in the random selection process.
  • To ensure new staff members have the opportunity to participate, we ask that you not apply if you have attended this event before, in person or virtually. However, if you are not selected for this particular breakfast, you may reapply in the future.

Fill this form out by 5PM on Monday, May 6th to be considered.
