Friday Five for March 1st, 2024

1. Looking Ahead: BruinTech Spring Conference Topics

The BruinTech Board is excited to announce our 2024 Spring Conference will be held in late May! More details will be announced soon, but first, we wanted to hear from all of you what topics you would like to see discussed at this year’s conference.

Your input is incredibly important for us as we plan one of our biggest events of the year.

Fill out this form to share your thoughts on potential topics or speakers!

2. CHR Professional Development Opportunities

The annual applications for the Professional Development Program (PDP) and Staff Enrichment Program (SEP) have opened! Although both programs feature career development and education about UCLA’s structure, PDP is geared toward staff who currently have some supervisory duties. It aims to train you into being a more effective leader and manager. On the other hand, SEP offers resources and opportunities aimed at more entry-level roles, including performance management and network development.

Each application will detail the respective eligibility requirements as well as program expectations. Both applications close on April 14.

3. UC Women’s Initiative for Professional Development

UC WI offers professional development skills to mid-career, woman-identified faculty, academic personnel, and career staff at the UC. This program will provide participants tools for negotiation, developing unique narratives, strategic relationship building, and professional impact, as well as providing access to top UC leaders.

Applications are due March 22.
