1. Looking Ahead: BruinTech Spring Conference Topics

The BruinTech Board is excited to announce our 2024 Spring Conference will be held in late May! More details will be announced soon, but first, we wanted to hear from all of you what topics you would like to see discussed at this year’s conference.

2. See, Hear & Speak Lean Six Sigma

Familiarize yourself with how to notice signs of process waste and pain points by joining Tracy O’Rourke at her next Lean Six Sigma speaker event with AMG. As a seasoned process consultant, Tracy will be showing attendees how to see, hear, and speak Lean, starting with teaching you to evaluate your world through a Lean lens.

3. UCLA OARC: Introduction to Linear Regression in R

If you have some time on Monday afternoon and even just minor exposure to R, join UCLA Office of Advanced Research Computing as they walk you through the basics of the linear regression model. This workshop will provide you with the foundations of the model equation, how to create predictive models from data, and more. This workshop will also be interactive – you’ll get the opportunity to work with actual exercises in R, one of the most popular languages for statistical computing and data visualization.

4. Reminder: New HR Systems Going Live in March!

UCLA is in the final stages of implementing its new HR systems JDXpert and iCIMs, with the latter expected to go live on March 26. The new systems will prioritize the end user experience and also make it easier for those involved in the hiring process to track and manage job postings and applicants.

If you or a hiring manager you know are currently in the middle of any ongoing recruitment efforts, it’s strongly recommended that you wrap up soon – check with your department’s HR representatives for any important dates and deadlines.
