1. Reminder to RSVP for BruinTech AI Congress Viewing Party

We still have a few spots left at our BruinTech Viewing Party for the Systemwide Academic Congress on Artificial Intelligence! Make sure to RSVP to the viewing by February 20 at 10AM! Free food, good company, and a peek into what our executive leaders think about AI – what’s not to like?

Topics that the Academic Congress will cover include:

  • Opportunities to use AI in higher education
  • AI's effect on the labor market
  • Assessing and reducing bias in AI

2. Website and Web App Testing Basics – No Experience Needed!

Join BruinTech for an intro to using Google Chrome to test your websites and web apps for accessibility, performance, and other best practices. You’ll also get a brief introduction to automating tests you need to do all the time.

The session will be led by BruinTech President Matthew Geddert, Manager of User Experience and Design in Student Affairs IT. No experience is needed – this session is a part of our ongoing Development and Automation Fundamentals, and the next event in the series will be on Docker and Development Containers.

3. UCUX Show and Tell

UX practitioners all over the UC system will come together to discuss any UX-related milestones,insights, and solutions at the next UCUX event. If you’re at all interested in how to make your applications more user-friendly or even just curious about the UX climate in the UC, then hop on this Zoom to learn from UX researchers and designers across our campuses.

4. Womxn in Tech UCLA Watch Parties

During the Celebrating Womxn in Tech Speaker Series on March 4 and March 7, UCLA HumTech will be hosting a pair of watch parties, one for each speaker event “Beyond the Hype: Unraveling the Myths, Realities & Governance of AI” and “Data Feminism: A Feminist Lens on Ethics, Diversity & Justice in AI & Data Science.”
